This rod has the exact same action and feel as our flag ship DT swordfish rod except it is 6” shorter and fits on a #2 butt. That shorter length causes less wear in the angler and the smaller #2 butt is ideal for small more light weight hand crank reels like the popular Accurate Valiant BV2-1000 or the Shimano Talica 50.
Come with Fuji sic guides and a Winthrop roller tip on a Calstar blank. This rod is perfect for seeing the subtle bite while daytime swordfishing. This rod is designed for use in the Gulf of Mexico where the currents are light and the weights used are usually 7 pounds or less. This rod is idea of 2.5-7 lbs of weight. This rod is also great for grouper and deep dropping. Comes on a short #2 Alps bent butt or a #2 Winthrop Terminator butt for the ultimate hand crank set up!
